join a committee

Many volunteer committees of Fairchild alumni have been working on the event since mid-2006, planning and organizing the events scheduled at the Computer History Museum in October. If you can help on one of our committees, let us know.

audio visual committee (Dick Bohnet & Chris Tubis)

We hope you'll enjoy the event from the moment you step out of your car and head into the Museum. There will be several Fairchild department and technology theme areas complete with static and audio-visual exhibits. We can use help locating and scanning photos, videos, products, and other materials for these displays, and if you have AV production skills, let us know at by filling out a quick and easy form.

catering committee (Caryl Pozos & Sandi Kyle)

Who will have time to drink and eat with all the conversations and backslapping, but even that requires sustenance, and this committee has put together the menus for the event. We could use help both before and during the event to make sure everything looks good and tastes great. Let us know if you can help during the event.

design & collateral committee (Larry Bender)

Larry Bender, Fairchild's art director during the late 1960s and 1970s has developed the Fairch@50 logo that you will see on many elements of the event collateral, decor and products. His crisp, bright design captures how we feel about our days with Fairchild Semiconductor and why we are all celebrating Fairchild Semiconductor's 50th anniversary (and Fairchild Semiconductor International's 10th).

panels committee (David Laws)

An advisory team of former executives of the company is helping to define the Friday History Panels. If you are interested in helping to organize or sponsor any of these activities please contact: fairchild50th@computerhistory.org

pr & communications committee (Geri Hadley)

If any of you would like to help us on this committee, let us know. Publicity and promotion is set to begin during the Spring. For now, word of mouth is spreading the word, and we can use everyone's help with that.

sponsorships (Dick Koeltl, Bob LoPresto, Hank Mulloy)

This committee plans to raise $1 million for the SIL Fund that will be used to create a semiconductor industry presence at the Computer History Museum. Find out more about the SIL Fund and sponsorship opportunities. This committee welcomes your support and involvement in connecting with companies and individuals who could make major tax-exempt donations to the fund. If you'd like to join this committee to solicit donations, contact Dick Koeltl. We have plenty of people who'd like to count the money.

tickets and onsite hospitality (Rita Gardner, Alice Betz)

We think we have ticketing under control, but we can use help at each event checking in people and making sure people know how to find various stations set up in the museums for the event.
